We are traveling to Alaska in our beautiful motor home and plan to be gone three months. We hope to see some great scenes and perhaps some wildlife. Perhaps there will be some interesting people and unusual happenings.

Fireweed
Traveling up the Parks highway toward Denali there were lots and lots of Fireweed. It is along side the road and there are large patches of the flower. The locals say that when the flower blooms all the way to the top this means summer is over and its time for school to start and expect snow in two weeks. As you can see the blooms are about half way up the stalk. It is a very pretty flower but the locals hate it.
