Yesterday we saw quite a bit of the Moose Dropping Festival at Talkeetna and the pictures show a couple of the floats in the parade. It was kind of like a county fair with various musical groups, food items, crafts and gifts. Our favorite was a group called “Bath Tub Gin” which played music of the 50’s and 60’s with a grandma on the keyboard. We missed the moose dropping when we were called to catch the airplane ride to Mt. McKinley. People purchased moose droppings (fake of course) and then they had some kind of lottery for prizes. The object was to raise money.
