Tree and Shrub
There were two trees (one may be a shrub) we saw in Anchorage that caught our attention. One was a dwarf dogwood which we had never known about. It was only about three inches high from the ground but looked just like a dogwood tree. The other was the cottonwood tree which was very abundant around Anchorage. You can see why it is called cottonwood because the seeds are encased in something that looks just like cotton. Sometimes on trails it looked like snow when it falls to the ground.
